If you want to learn how to make games with no coding required, come along and we’ll show you how! We’ll be there from 4-6pm at the Wellington Library.
You can RSVP to the Gamefroot Game Creation Workshop from here:http://www.meetup.com/Learn-to-make-Games-with-Gamefroot-Wellington/events/219014572/
After a brief introduction to Game Design, attendees will build a complete game with characters, environment, and interactive items. You’ll also learn to use our drag-and-drop script editor to bring game objects to life – no coding required!
Once everybody is happy with their game we will publish them to Gamefroot.com where you can share them with your friends, and we’ll see what it’s like having your game running on a phone.

Preamble
Game Developers of Wellington (GDoW) is a group of enthusiasts from the gaming community in Wellington that meets to discuss game design and collaborate on computer game projects. Our aim is to support and grow game development in Wellington. Members come from a wide spectrum of the gaming community – gamers, game developers and interested parties.
GDoW is run by volunteers. There is no membership fee or process to join apart from signing up to the meetup page. As such, we cannot oblige members to sign-up to a code of conduct. Nevertheless, as we engage with the wider community, including seeking sponsorship and support for our activities, there has been an expectation that we have a code of conduct in place.
General
We ask that all members of GDoW participate in our activities in such a way that promotes a positive experience for all.
To protect the integrity of the community the organisers may need to speak with individual members about behaviours that we deem inappropriate or harmful. We may also remove a membership from the meetup site and prevent engagement in GDoW activities for a specified period of time. Needless to say these are not decisions we would come to lightly.
We provide the following list of behaviours that would cause us concern. These behaviours fall under a common sense philosophy. If a member finds themselves asking whether or not they are crossing the line, they probably are.
Participation
We encourage feedback and debate at GDoW activities. Alcohol is available at some events. We expect members to adopt behaviours that are respectful of others. Abuse, drinking excessively or endangering yourself or others in any way is not acceptable.
Racism, sexism, homophobia, or other hate speech
We will not tolerate language or content that is racist, sexist, homophobic or falls under generally accepted guidelines for hate speech.
Harassment or defamation of others
Treat other members the way you’d like to be treated. This includes on social media platforms, blog pages and the like.
Conditions of use
We run activities in which we are reliant on other people’s goodwill, including sponsors and invited guests. This extends to use of rooms, resources and software, In order to leave a positive experience with such people we would expect all members to respect any conditions associated with the use of other people’s material.
